For some reason, the Propel 750 may be Vitamix’s subtle move to discontinue the Professional 750/Pro 750 name while keeping this high-end blender!

The Vitamix 5200 has a 2-horsepower motor which is slightly less powerful than the Vitamix Propel 750’s 2.2-horsepower motor.
Yet, the slight difference in motor power is barely noticeable in their overall blending performance and consistency blend textures.
Both blenders deliver exceptional blending results and will blend even the toughest ingredients and tiniest seeds to smooth consistency.
In fact, even the inexpensive Explorian Series blenders, including the E520 and E320, will still deliver the iconic Vitamix blending performance.

Variable Speed Control Knob with 5 Blending Programs
It has an elegant variable speed control knob to manually adjust the speed settings from 1 to 10 and use the five preset blending programs.
The five blending programs are for Smoothies, Hot Soups, Frozen Desserts, Dips & Spreads, and Self-Cleaning for walk-away convenience.
Pulse + Power Switches
It also has a pulse switch, a start/stop blending switch, and a power switch with a blue LED in the lower front part of the motor base.

The Vitamix 5200 motor base is the original Classic Vitamix. The 5200 comes to mind when most Vitamix enthusiasts hear the word Vitamix!

2-Horsepower Motor
Vitamix 5200 has a 2-horsepower that’s slightly less powerful than the Propel 750’s motor. But the power difference doesn’t affect performance!

TIP: The 5200’s 64-oz classic container has 3-inch blades, while the Propel 750’s 64-oz low-profile container has 4-inch blades, which explains the need for a slightly powerful motor! Propel 510’s 48-oz container also has 3-inch blades.
Variable Speed Control Knob
The 5200 also has a variable speed control knob in the middle to manually adjust the speed settings from 1 to 10. But it doesn’t have any blending programs!
High/Variable + On/Off Switch
It has an On/Off switch on one side of the knob to start and stop the blending process and a High/Variable switch on the other.
Switching to High blends at the highest speed level and switching to Variable lets you adjust the blending speed with the variable speed control knob.
Propel 750 vs 5200 Noise Levels
Both Propel 750 and 5200 are quite loud, even when blending with the low speeds of 1 to 5. At high speeds of 6 to 10, they sound like a lawnmower 😀
If you are interested in a quieter Vitamix, I recommend the Vitamix The Quiet One, which has a noise level of 65 decibels which sounds like a normal conversation!
To illustrate, someone awake in the other room or the neighbors won’t notice when you’re using it at the highest speed at 2 AM on a chilly, silent night!
But the Vitamix The Quiet One is quite bulky and costs almost twice the price of the Vitamix Propel 750, which is already a pricey blender!
The other quieter blender is the Blendtec Professional 800, my favorite! It has the same noise level of 65 decibels and a 90-oz Wildside+ container.
The Professional 800 is still pricey but about $500 cheaper than the Vitamix Quiet One! Both have professional-grade motors and simple controls.
